Roaches in one restaurant mean a failing grade

Posted: Updated:

Dining out this weekend?
The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a good week, but not a great week with the 29 restaurants inspected. A great week would mean no failing grades to pass along, but this week inspectors found a place on Highway 58 that needs some help in the kitchen.
Remember, a failing grade in any score lower than a 70. And Chief Inspector Jack Falcon says China Garden gets a 69. They have ten days to correct all critical violations.
At China Garden, inspectors found roaches in the food prep area, they were not thawing out chicken correctly, and eggs were at the wrong temperature.

Employees were not washing their hands and the cutting board need replacing. Once again they get a 69
The high score of the week Is Five Guys Burger And Fries on Gunbarrel Road.
Hats off to their hard work in the kitchen with a 97.

Remember any complaints about a restaurant, hotel or motel, day care or a place you work out, call the Hamilton County Health Department  Hotline at (423) 209-8110 or feel free to email me and I'll pass your comments along.
Enjoy your meal!
