Clearing out today and cooling off this weekend

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Good Friday!  Don't forget to set the clocks BACK one hour before bedtime Saturday night as DST comes to an end (this is the good one in which we get an extra hour of sleep).

Halloween turned out to be a nice one as MOST of the rain held off until the late night.  We will see skies clearing out through the day as the front continues to move eastward.  Winds are dying down as well, and by this afternoon it should be very comfortable with highs in the low 70s and mostly sunny skies.

Great weather for all the football games tonight.  It will be mostly clear and temps will be in the upper 50s and low 60s this evening.  Temps will cool into the mid 40s by Saturday morning.

One thing to watch for Saturday will be clouds, and even a stray shower or two is possible.  Many times, as a front moves through, the low pressure associated with it can still shoot down some energy even if the front has passed by.  This will be the case Saturday, and will give us quite a few clouds.  The chance of rain Saturday will be about 20%.

The high Saturday will be in the mid 60s.

Sunday will bring lots of sunshine with much cooler weather.  The low will be around 40.  The high will reach 60.

5pm... Mostly Sunny, 72

Good Thursday.  We have another bitterly cold start today with temps in the low to mid 10s this morning.  Fortunately, our winds are fairly calm this morning so wind chill won't be as much of an issue heading out.

The roads will be very slick including interstates and main city roads Tuesday night because of these cold temperatures. So travel should be discouraged.
