Local student caught plotting to kill school administrators and classmates

Posted: Updated:
WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -

A blueprint plan complete with the date, choice of weapons and clothes a Coahulla Creek High School student wanted to wear the day he planned to execute people was all jotted down in a yellow journal.  The school's resource officer contacted the Whitfield County Sheriffs Department and quickly confiscated the "kill list" and took the juvenile into custody.

Detective Guay says, "the journal contained several names of students, teachers and one administrator."

Concerned parents, like Marlene Lopez are now coming forward voicing their opinions as new details emerge.  Her daughter is a 9th grader at Coahulla Creek High School.

Marlene says, "my daughter told me it was scary and she didn't understand why someone would do something like this."

Detective Christopher Guay says,"reporting any specious activity regardless of how big or small is very important to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you."

The people named on the list were contacted and informed about the situation by the Whitfield County Sheriff's Department.

Hold on. The heat and humidity are going to continue through the weekend. Today, look for a high of 95 and a heat index near 100. We won't see the same coverage of storms that we saw last night, but with this much heat and humidity in place you never want to completely rule out one or two storms breaking through.More
