City of Cleveland passes ordinance for "Brew Pubs"

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, TN (WRCB) -

The city of Cleveland may soon see a new "brew pub" in the area.

That's after city council approved an ordinance this week that would create a new kind of beer license.

Council members say a brew pub is different from a bar, because the beverages sold there are produced there, and not shipped in.

Council members in favor of the ordinance cited a number of successful brew houses in East Tennessee -- including the three in Chattanooga.

The motion passed six to two.
