Scam in Sequatchie County targeting the elderly

Posted: Updated:
SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

A scam warning for you that is targeting the elderly.

The Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department says the victim gets a call from a person saying they have won a lot of money.

You're then told to go to Walmart and purchase a "Paypal Green Dot money pack card."

When the card is bought, with the known amount and the victim has left the store, the caller gets the card number and the money is gone.

The con artist has been luring victims by promising a gift will be delivered to your home.

If you have any information, call police.
