Block parties and other events changing commutes

CHATTANOOGA -

Several roads will be closed due Halloween block parties other events this week.

Riverfront Parkway from Aquarium Way to Molly Street, Chestnut Street from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway, Power Alley from Aquarium Way to Riverfront Parkway and the southbound Veterans Bridge exit ramp will be closed from 9:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30 through 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2013 for the Head of the Hooch.  Northbound Riverfront Parkway will be closed to through traffic at ML King Boulevard.  Detours will be posted.

The 2000 block of Duncan Avenue, between Beech Street and Willow Street will be closed from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2013 for a Community Halloween Block party

Wilson Street from Bonny Oaks Drive to Lightfoot Mill Road will be closed from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm each evening from Thursday, October 31, through Saturday November 2, 2013 for the Oakwood Baptist Church Judgment House.

The 500 block of Graham Street, from Crewdson Street to Normal Avenue will be closed from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2013 for the Graham Street Halloween Block Party.

ML King Boulevard between Broad Street and Georgia Avenue, and Market Street between East 8th Street and East 10th Street will be closed from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 for SWAP, sponsored by Heil Environmental.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park, and Chestnut Street between West 19th Street and West 17th Street will be closed from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013 for the USSBA Southern States Band Competition.  West 17th Street between Broad Street and Chestnut Street will be closed to through traffic.  The curb and inside lanes of eastbound and westbound 20th Street will be closed for bus parking.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park, will be closed from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 3, 2013 for the Chattanooga Market.
