Cold snap continues Friday

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Good Friday morning! Grab a coat (again) as you head out the door. Despite sunshine chilly weather sticks around today.

Freeze Warning for all TN counties until 10 a.m. EDT. Frost Advisory for all of north GA until 9 a.m. EDT.

A cold region of high pressure remains over the Tennessee Valley providing plenty of sunshine today but dealing temperatures typical of winter rather than early to mid-autumn. Look for highs only reaching the lower to middle 50s. Stay bundled up for your high school football games this evening. Lows overnight drop to 30 in the city, 20s elsewhere.

The weekend brings fair skies and a little bit of a warming trend. A few clouds pass by with highs in the lower to middle 60s, lows in the 30s.

Monday through Wednesday of next week feature partly cloudy skies and the warming trend continues. Highs get a boost into the more seasonable upper 60s and lower 70s while lows stay well above freezing in the 40s to near 50 degrees. Our next best chance for showers is Thursday (Halloween) as a cold front sweeps through the region. Thunderstorms may rumble, too. At this time most of the rain should be gone in time for trick-or-treating in the evening.
