LOGICARE patient education software will be brought to The Wellness Network's 2,000 hospitals
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wellness Network, parent company of The Patient Channel, The Newborn Channel, and HealthStyle Press, today announced that it has acquired LOGICARE Corporation, a leading hospital patient education software company.
LOGICARE provides software to healthcare organizations that creates and tracks patient-specific education and discharge instructions across facilities and enterprises, and that delivers emergency department information systems. LOGICARE has more than 200 hospital clients and its software is integrated with electronic medical records system to provide prescribed and trackable education covering more than 6,000 topics.

With the acquisition of LOGICARE we will be able to measure and record both patient comprehension and consumption of patient ed materials for meaningful use and better patient outcomes," said Matthew Davidge, President of The Wellness Network.

This is the fifth acquisition since 2008 for The Wellness Network owners Matthew Davidge and Joe Covey through their holding company, Interactivation. Prior acquisitions were the cable TV networks Mag Rack in 2008, Concert TV in 2009, hospital TV networks The Patient Channel and The Newborn Channel in 2010 and HealthStyle Press in 2012.
LOGICARE is located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and its office and 25 employees will remain there. Financial terms of the LOGICARE acquisition were not disclosed. LOGICARE was advised by Cherry Tree & Associates.
