CHICKAMAUGA, GA (WRCB) -

A family of three is alive thanks to the quick action of law enforcement officers.

Walker County dispatch received a house fire call around 3:50 a.m. on South Forest Road in Chickamauga. Three people were reportedly trapped inside.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene before fire and was able to help the family crawl out a window to the roof and then down to safety.

Fire officials say the home was about 60 percent damaged, but no estimate was available.

They believe a space heater caused the fire in the living room.

The homeowner says she plans to thank the officers who saved her and her two children.
