Bill to resume funding for Chickamauga Lock passed
The House passed a bill that will resume funding for the Chickamauga lock project.
The bill serves to reform the Inland Waterways Trust Fund. As it stands, most of the funding is allocated to one location, neglecting other systems in the project, including in Chickamauga.
Wednesday afternoon, Tennessee Congressman Chuck Fleischmann took to the House floor saying this bill is a step in the right direction.
"Our waterways transportation fund is critically important to this nation, as Americans.... needs to have construction started again."
The vote was overwhelming passed with bipartisan support.
