A little warmer today. Clouds/sprinkle tomorrow?

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - Good Monday.  I guess my middle school daughter and her friend sleeping sprawled on the living room furniture at 3am means fall break is here!  It should be a nice cool, fall like week for you.

Today will actually be a little warmer than the weekend.  A front is approaching, and ahead of the front we will have light southwest winds that will pump in slightly warmer air.  Highs today will reach the low 70s (we were in the upper 60s yesterday).

Tonight, the warm air will continue streaming in.  Lows will stay in the upper 40s tonight.  We will also see clouds building late tonight through Tuesday.  I don't expect much, if any, rain, but a sprinkle or two Tuesday can't be ruled out.  Highs Tuesday will reach about 70.

The front will pass through Wednesday, and temps will drop quite a bit through the day.  The high will only reach 58, and that will be early in the day.  Temps will be dropping through the afternoon into Wednesday night so that the low on Thursday morning will be cooling into the 30s.

(WRCB) - Good Saturday. While we have seen a few light sprinkles this morning, the bulk of the rain stayed east and south of the area, and I think that will continue to be the case. For the rest of the day we can expect mostly cloudy skies with a high today of 74. We will see our winds increasing behind the front to 10-20 mph from the northeast.Tonight, the winds die down, and we will see some clearing heading through the overnight.More

Parts of the area remain under Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings. I don't think we are looking at any widespread problems this morning, but patchy areas of frost are certainly possible, especially in the Blue Ridge.More
