McKamey Animal Center to undergo audit

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (Times Free Press) -

One Chattanooga City Council member is taking partial blame for an upcoming audit against the McKamey Animal Center.

According to our partners at the Times Free Press, councilman Larry Grohn says they haven't, quote "done their due diligence."

This comes after months of bickering and a request for an audit of McKamey's board by the city.

Grohn questions why Chattanooga Mayor Berke's staff asked for an audit when the city's contract with the animal shelter is outdated.

The auditor's office could start their work sometime this week.
