Barn fire in Sale Creek keeps firefighters busy
A large barn fire has severely damaged a farmer's feed supply for his cattle.
It happened around 1:15 Monday afternoon at 14332 Back Valley Road in Sale Creek.
The Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded. When they arrived they found several hundred hay bales as well as the barn on fire and requested backup.
Firefighters used back hoes to pull hay on fire out from the barn and extinguished them with water.
Mr. Don Fuller, property owner, explained he had 400 bales in the barn valued at $12,000.
Other items damaged in the fire include; a 2013 John Deere tractor, a round Baler, a square baler and the barn totaling $54,000.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Mr. Fuller did not have insurance. He also mentioned he may have to sell his cattle because he does not have any hay to feed them.
Photographs from the scene show hay bales that may be on fire.
