Posted: Updated:

Police are searching for the driver of a car that ran over a passenger on a motorcycle early Sunday morning.

Officials say the motorcycle crashed with a car on I-24 near the 17000 block just after 3 a.m.

The motorcycle landed on its side and the passenger, Rachel Hensen, fell into another lane of traffic. An unknown vehicle ran over her leg and drove away.

Hensen was taken to the hospital in critical condition with head and leg injuries and broken bones.

The driver of the motorcycle, Mark Stanke, was not injured.

Anyone with further information on the vehicle that struck Hensen is asked to contact the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.  Charges are pending in this case.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
