CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Normal Park Upper School held its first annual College Week Pep Rally on Thursday. With the implementation of the Common Core State Standards, the shift in instructional goals from high school completion to college and career readiness hopefully places each student on a pathway to college.  In order to further these goals at Normal Park, teachers have conducted College Week activities.

The week has included displays of each teacher's alma mater pennants outside their classrooms; speeches from each of the teachers about their college experience; a day where the staff wears their caps and gowns; a college spirit dress day; and Thursday's pep rally.   Special guests included UTC mascot Scrappy and the UTC cheerleaders.
