The Chattooga County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident from Wednesday night.
Around 5:35p.m. an officer was call to 173 Katie Lane in Summerville regarding prowlers. The deputy did not locate anyone nor get anyone to answer the door at the residence.
Later around 6:50p.m., Chattooga 911 received another call for the same address. This time the caller was whispering intophone and could not be understood.
Deputies responded and again could not get anyone to answer the door. One of the deputies went around to the back and discovered an open window. The deputy heard a male voice threatening the deputies. At that time backup was calledand the area around the residence was blocked off.
More verbal contact with the male voice indicated that there may be more than one person inside.
Walker County SWAT was requested.
Before SWAT arrived, a male jumped from a second floor window in the rear of the house and ran towards the driveway. He was quickly taken into protective custody.
During questioning the subject eluded that at least two more people inside the house, armed.
By that time SWAT had arrived and a decision was made to enter the house. No other person was found during two searches of the resident.
The male subject was taken to the Sheriff's Office.
