Dade County crews working to repair roads washed by flash floods

Posted: Updated:
DADE COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -

It's been 5 months since flash flooding destroyed more than a dozen main roads in Dade County.
Since then, road crews have worked tirelessly to make them drivable again.
All the 'main' roads are safe to drive on, but still need asphalt.
They're just starting on the secondary roads.
Dade County officials say may's flash flooding cost them more than even the April 2011 tornadoes. Now, they're getting a bond from the county's industrial development authority to cover the more than million dollar price tag.  But say it will still take a little more time.
The county has 15 years to pay the bond back.  And plans to use "SPLOST" money.
