10 arrested for Lookout Mountain burglaries

Posted: Updated:
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA (WRCB) -

Ten people face charges for a string of burglaries and break-ins on Lookout Mountain in Georgia and Tennessee.

All of the suspects are from Hamilton County. The arrests stem from a joint operation between police departments in Lookout Mountain, GA; Lookout Mountain, TN and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Police say a number of recent arrests put a big dent in the crimes that had mountain residents on edge for weeks.

Four of the suspects were reportedly caught in the act at a house on Wood Nymph Trail. They were also charged with a break-in on Hardy Road.

The Hamilton County defendants were arrested following a raid at a house on Long Street.

Authorities found a stash of items police said were taken from burglaries on lookout mountain and elsewhere.

They will each appear in court later this month.
