Type "O" negative blood wanted

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Blood Assurance is issuing a plea for blood donations.

The inventory levels of type "O negative" have dropped to a critical level.

The current shortage is due to an increased usage of blood by local hospitals.

To be eligible to donate, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.

Donors can find out about upcoming blood drives by visiting the organization's Facebook page.
