North Carolina shooting and dog attack sends two to hospital and one to jail

MURPHY, NC (WRCB) -

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded Tuesday night a home in Murphy, NC to a report of a man being shot and a female who had possibly been mauled by a dog.

The resulting investigation determined that Scott Doyle Wilson of Murphy had been involved in an altercation with another male.

During the altercation Wilson shot the male with a handgun.

Wilson was taken into custody by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

The North Carolina Magistrate set a $10,000.00 secure bond for Wilson, who has an October 15th, 2013 District Court date.

The male victim was flown to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga is currently in critical condition.

Also uncovered during the investigation a female who sustained injuries from a dog attack. The female was taken to Murphy Medical Center, than later transferred to Erlanger Hospital and currently listed as being in fair condition.
