White and Miller win TCBFT Season Opener on Nickajack

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – Thirty-five teams representing eight different colleges gathered on Nickajack Lake Saturday, September 21st  to battle it out for first place in the Tennessee Collegiate Bass Fishing Trail's first qualifying tournament of the 2013 season.

The Team of Brent White and Colby Miller representing Tennessee Tech University caught a five bass limit weighing 15.44 pounds to take the win and $700 first place prize.

Finishing in second place and winning $350 was the team of Parker Bacon and Matt Gardenhire from University of Tennessee, Chattanooga with five fish weighing 13.33 pounds.

The duo of Matt Allen and Zach Youngblood from Middle Tennessee State University had big fish of the tournament with a largemouth weighing 4.89 pounds which earned them a Custom Joe Burns Rod.

Cody Frazier and Caleb Cushman from University of Tennessee, Chattanooga won a $100 bonus for being of the highest finishing Tow Boat US member in the event.
