Posted: Updated:
RICEVILLE, TN (WRCB) -

An adult and child are in the hospital following an accident in McMinn County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol reports it happened around 5:00p.m. Monday when a car and an ATV collided on County Road 700 at County Road 758 in Riceville.

23 year-old Christopher Dawson and the 12 year-old were taken by air ambulance to the hospital.  Their condition is unknown at this time.

Dawson and the juvenile were riding an ATV going north on County Road 758 when he ran through a stop sign at the intersection of CR 758 and County Road 700.  As the ATV went through the intersection it was hit by a pickup truck driven by 18 year-old Joshua Yates, traveling east on CR 700.

The pickup truck pushed the ATV into a field where it landed on top of Dawson and the juvenile.

No charges have been filed.
