OOLTEWAH, TN (WRCB) -- Desmond Pittman wore down another defense as the Ooltewah Owls outlasted East Hamilton 28-26 in our Friday Night Football Game of the Week.

Pittman who was named Player of the Game by our crew rushed for 264 yards with two touchdowns.

Pittmans first rushing touchdown gave the Owls an 8-5 lead in the second quarter which they never gave back.

Jerimiah Jackson returned an interception from East Hamilton's Hunter Moore on the ensuing possession for a 14-5 halftime lead.

The Hurricanes responded in the second half pulling within two points three times. All three touchdowns came on the ground from Matt Milita.

East Hamilton blocked a punt with under a minute to play, down two they worked their way into field goal range with 40 seconds left.

The Canes took a shot at the end zone and Vanderbilt Commitment Tre Hurdon was called for offensive pass interference pushing East Hamilton out of field goal range.

Moore was intercepted one final time on third and 26.

Ooltewah Head Coach Mac Bryan said, "this is what it's all about, two good teams battling, two good teams that will win a lot of games.

Ooltewah (4-1) improves to 2-0 in District 5-AAA play and will host Dobyns-Bennett on September 27th.

East Hamilton (4-1) drops to 1-1 in District 5-AAA play and has a bye week before hosting Cleveland on October 4th.
