MCMINN COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

An observant patrol officer nabbed two McMinn County men for possession of illegal weapons.

On Monday, the officer noted a vehicle as suspicious, as she approached, the passenger, later identified as Donald Kasemeyer reached for a bag, with the handle of a pistol, spilling out of it.

A search turned up several 9 millimeters full of ammunition, a slap jack, and two loaded rifles.

None of the weapons came back as stolen, but the driver, Stephen Hodge's license had been revoked in May and Kasemeyer's license was suspended.

Kasemeyer claimed ownership of the weapons and said he was "trying to sell them, and forgot they were there".

He's being held on $13,000 bond.
