CHATTANOOGA, TN (Times Free Press) -

The company that operates the Delta Queen Boat and Hotel on the north shore of the Tennessee River downtown denies that it has fallen behind on its rent payments.

Leah Ann Ingram, president and an owner of Delta Queen LLC, said in a press release, "When we were first given notice by the city of unpaid rent on July 11, we were shocked."

She said they have told the city on repeated occasions and the city's figures are incorrect, and "the city refused to provide us with any documentation to support their incorrect claim."

"We have repeatedly told the City since July that their figures are in error, and for almost two months, the City refused to provide us with any documentation to support their incorrect claim", she continued.

Ingram is part of a group that is trying to purchase and renovate the Delta Queen in order to return the boat to overnight river cruise service.
