Transportation of the future will soon be on display in Chattanooga.
Sunday, September 29th is National Plug in Day.
The latest Plug-in-Electric Cars and bikes will be at the Chattanooga Market. Folks are invited to experience the latest in EV technology by taking a test drive.
The event begins at 11:00a.m. at the First Tennessee Pavilion. At 1:00p.m. a parade of the electric vehicles will drive to Whole Foods for an "Electric Tailgate" party.
National Plug-in-Day is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.
Throughout the weekend of September 28 - 29, 2013, events across the US and other countries will celebrate the third annual National Plug-in-Day.
The fleet of plug-in electric vehicles in the United States is the largest in the world. Since 2008 more than 133,000 highway-capable plug-in electric cars have been sold in the country through August 2013. The U.S. was the world's leader in plug-in electric car sales in 2012, with a 46% share of global sales.
