UPDATE: Toddler struck by car in East Ridge dies
UPDATE: Channel 3 has learned that the one-year-old child that was struck by a vehicle and as a result sustained a serious injury died Wednesday night from his injuries while at the hospital.
East Ridge Police are still investigating this incident and at this time no charges are pending in the incident.
East Ridge Police arrived at 3832 Kingwood Circle Tuesday around 7 p.m. on reports of a pedestrian being struck.
Upon arrival police discovered that an adult and one-year-old child were standing between two vehicles in front of the residence while another family member attempted to move one of the vehicles.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver did not realize the vehicle was in reverse and accidentally backed into the adult and child.
The adult suffered an injury to his right leg, and the child received a serious injury and was transported to Children's Hospital at Erlanger by ambulance.
East Ridge Police Traffic Division is investigating this incident.
Channel 3 has confirmed that a pedestrian was struck in East Ridge Tuesday around 7 p.m. in the 3800 block of Kingwood Circle.
