GA high school freshmen to get a head start

Posted: Updated:

All Georgia high school freshmen will soon be expected to consider areas of study that are geared toward careers.
The state program is part of a national trend to align course work with the needs of employers.
All ninth graders will be required to take one of 17 broad careers classes, such as finance or health sciences.
Officials hope it will help prepare students for the workforce.
