Pension task force holds first meeting

Posted: Updated:

The newly formed Pension Task force held their first meeting Monday night.
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke announced the task force last month, in an effort to reform the city's Fire and Police Pension Fund.
The task force includes 18 members, including active and retired firefighters and police officers, as well as community leaders.
More than 40 members of the public attended the meeting.
The mayor's newly approved budget contributes $14.4 million to the pension fund.
