Good Monday. For the middle of August, our weather this week is okay. As we approach the middle of September, however, the low 90s seem a bit toasty.
That is what we can expect this week. High pressure positioned just to our east will pump in some warm, moist air that will keep highs right around 90 and keep dew point values in the mid 60s. So while it won't feel oppressive during the afternoons, you will certainly feel the heat and humidity.
As far as rain, at best we could see one or two afternoon storms, but each day the chance of rain is 20% at best.
A strong front is going to push in Thursday and Friday, and that could bring one or two storms to the area, but the biggest impact will be much cooler and drier air moving into the Tennessee Valley. Highs this weekend will be in the low 80s, and dew points dropping into the low to mid 50s.
