Neighbors work together to clean up park

Posted: Updated:

Sunday the community came together to clean up a local park as part of an ongoing event.

The 45th Street park was at the center of a makeover as neighbors and city park staff gathered.
Those involved say this was the best way to spend a weekend.

Organizers say the goal was to make the park safe for families and the environment.

The hope is to bring the park up to code and allow for new neighbors to connect.

"It's looking good; it's looking really good for the community. We'll have some where to gather again; families can have reunions, picnics, just all kinds of events," says Rosemary Porter with the Chattanooga Leadership Advisory Council.

This effort was put together by the city and community with the help of grant money.
