OOLTEWAH, HAMILTON COUNTY -

(WRCB) - The shiny new Ooltewah Elementary was dedicated Thursday, showcasing the new buildings and the potential for future growth in an area that is growing itself.

Dignitaries and officials, along with a JROTC color guard. participated in the events.

The original school was built in the mid 1950's when the area was more rural.

As the Ooltewah community has grown the need for the school increased, as new businesses and more families moved into the area.

With a construction cost of $21 million dollars, the new school boasts technology to help students and teachers, and some energy-efficiencies to help taxpayers.
