UPDATE: SWAT called to Pinewood Apartments

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Around 11 Wednesday morning the Fugitive Division of the Chattanooga Police Department arrived at 2201 Pinewood Avenue to serve warrants on Rodney Bates and Gary Brown Jr. 

After Bates fled to the attic and barricaded himself, SWAT along with the help of HCSD K-9 Division was able to apprehend him.

Gary Brown Jr. was not at the home; however he does have active warrants for Domestic Assault and Burglary.

Bates was wanted for probation violation of drug charges. 

Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Gary Brown Jr. is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.

 


 

Intense moments at an apartment complex Wednesday afternoon.

The SWAT team was called in to nap a man hiding in the attic.

It all went down at Pinewood Apartments on Pinewood Road.

Chattanooga police were serving warrants at about 11 a.m., when they say Rodney Bates, held himself up in an attic.

A SWAT team was called in to get bates who was wanted for probation violation on drug charges.

But officials say, at least he didn't go far.  It took a little while, but bates was taken by officials out of the attic and arrested.
