CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Runners who were blasted with five tons of color dye were more than willing to show their vibrant personalities Saturday morning for the Run or Dye 5k.

Each runner was covered in blue, green, purple and red. However, the fun colors were also meant to brighten the lives of area foster children.

A percentage of the race proceeds benefits The Partnership for Families, Children and Adults' Foster Care Program, which aims to provide a safe, caring foster family for abused or neglected children.

"I would've paid more than what they're asking because there's so many people, so many families in need," says runner Alexandra Hamilton. "To know this is going to help them for a good cause, it makes it worth it."

Last year alone The Partnership helped more than 75,000 people in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
