East Ridge emergency responders rescued two kayakers trapped in swift water Friday.

Officials say fire fighters and police officers responded to Chickamauga Creek near Camp Jordan Park on kayakers trapped in a section of swift water.

Police made contact with the kayakers who were not injured.

The kayakers said they encountered swift water that pinned them against a tree.

Firefighters performed a swift water rescue and moved the kayakers to shore. Police assisted with the rescue.
