RED BANK, TN (WRCB)- Red Bank High senior Josey Janow is basking in the glow of a visit to the nation's capital last month.  He was one of only two Tennessee students (out of 550) chosen to represent the state at the American Legion Boys Nation.  "Being chosen for Boys State was great, but the national honor was truly amazing," he said.

Janow is a top student, football team captain, soccer goalie, student body president and JROTC officer.  Lt. Col. Hugh Enicks said, "It's been wonderful watching him develop into a leader.  The students here respect him, and he is a real role model for the younger ones.

As he begins his senior year, Janow is working on an anti-bullying program that can be replicated at schools countywide.  He says he learned a lot about leadership, deadlines and teamwork at Boys Nation.  Among the highlights of the trip were meeting Senator Lamar Alexander, himself a Boys State participant in his youth, and President Barack Obama.
