Rescuers helped save a woman trapped in a truck after an early morning wreck Thursday.

The wreck happened just before 5 a.m. on Highway 27 near the Morrison Springs Road exit.

Red Bank first responders told Channel 3 a preliminary report shows a pick-up truck traveling southbound was rear-ended, flipped in the median and was hit a second time by a truck traveling northbound.

Rescuers responded to the wreck and found the female driver trapped in the truck in the median. Hamilton County EMS and the Red Bank Fire Department worked to free her from the car using the "Jaws of Life."

One rescuer told Channel 3 she was talking and coherent as she taken to the hospital. The driver of another truck was taken to the hospital in the same ambulance. No word on the condition of the drivers.

The rescuer also said it appears all drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The left south and northbound lanes were both closed until about 6:30.
