Firefighters battle 3 fires Sunday

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

Firefighters across Hamilton County were busy Sunday night.

Around :30 p.m. Chattanooga Fire responded to a fire at Bentco Office Supplies on Stuart Street.

Firefighters forced their way inside and reported heavy smoke in the building. Firefighters used thermal imaging camera to locate the fire inside the roof. They cut their way into the roof and extinguished the fire.

Officials believe an electrical malfunction caused the fire.

Around 9:30 p.m. Chattanooga Fire and Tri-Community Fire Department both responded to fires caused by lightning strikes. .

Chattanooga responded to a fire at 286 Bass Road. The home was made up of four apartments and smoke and flames were visible.

Firefighters battled the blaze for over an hour, but the home was a total loss.

Tri-Community responded to a home on 8004 Ashview Circle in Collegedale at the same time.
Firefighters say smoke was visible and located the fire in the attic. The fire was contained within 10 minutes.

Officials say the home sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.

No one was injured. All three fires are still under investigation.
