Theft suspect crashes, injures 3

Three people were injured when a theft suspect led officers on a pursuit and crashed Saturday morning, according to police.

Cleveland Police say they responded to Fulbright Road in response to a theft from motor vehicle around 7:40 a.m.

The responding officer spotted a blue Chevy Tracker that matched the description of the offender and followed it.

The officer says the suspect was speeding and he was unable to make contact. He says the suspect drove through a stop sign and crashed into a Nissan Quest near Chambliss Avenue and 20th Street.

Two female passengers in the Nissan were taken to Skyridge with injuries.

The driver of the Chevy, Christopher Stringer, was arrested. His passenger, Valerie Keller, was taken to Erlanger with injuries.

Stringer was charged with felony reckless endangerment, driving on suspended,  Stop sign violation, financial responsibility, auto burglary, and theft.

Police recovered the stolen merchandise.
