A woman is being treated at Erlanger after a house boat gas tank exploded at the Harrison Bay State Park marina.
Dan Hicks, spokesperson for the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, says a mechanic had been working on the boat and thought he had it fixed.
Around 9:45 Friday evening the boat was pulled up to the fueling dock to fill up. That's when the portside burst into flames and exploded.
A female passenger received burns to her face, legs, and arms.
She was transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment.
Hicks says the fire was put out quickly, before spreading to the rest of the boat.
"It was obviously a mechanical problem," Hicks told Channel 3, "a problem with the gas line."
Hicks says the names of those involved will be released at a later time.
