WEEKEND FORECAST: More showers and storms expected

Good Friday! Expect more showers and storms to return today, so once again keep rain gear handy. Chances last at least through the weekend.

As a nearly stationary front sits just to our north, the Tennessee Valley stays in a warm and humid air mass. There will be plenty of moisture in the atmosphere to trigger scattered showers and storms each day for the next few days right through the weekend and into next week.  While overnight/early morning activity isn't impossible, most of the showers and storms will begin developing in the late morning hours and fade by late evening/midnight. An isolated severe storm producing large hail or damaging winds can't ruled out any given day, but the main threat will be lightning and heavy downpours which may cause more flash flooding in some areas. Tornadoes are not expected to be a concern.

High temperatures through the weekend will reach the middle to upper 80s, climbing to around 90 early next week.  The normal highs are near 90 and lows are near 70.
