Rafael's scores low, and Hardees hits high

Dining out this weekend?
The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a great week reporting no failing grades. A lot of the inspectors were out on vacation this week, so only six restaurants were visited.

As always, we do have a low score to pass along to you. Remember a failing grade in any score lower than a 70. According to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon, a score of 74 was recorded at Rafael's on Hixson Pike.

At Rafael's inspectors found utensils not being cleaned properly, cutting board need replacing, the inside of the freezer was dirty, poison was being stored with kitchen cleaning products and the ice machine needs a good cleaning.

The high score of the week is the Hardees on Hixson Pike. Congratulations to the employees for their hard work, as they receive a 95.

Always remember any complaints about a restaurant, hotel or motel, day care or a place your work out, call the Hamilton County Health Department Hotline at (423) 209-8110 or feel free to email me.

Enjoy your meal!
