BRADLEY COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

Charges are pending after firefighters discover a marijuana growing operation during an apartment fire in Bradley County.

Bradley County fire crews responded to an apartment complex on Cedar Springs Road Wednesday night.

They were able to contain the fire to the living room of one unit, saving three units in the small apartment complex.

No one was injured, but four dogs died in the fire that led investigators to a closet full of pot.

"Upon examining a closet they discovered 8 small marijuana plants, some fertilizer, and some special lighting equipment that was being used apparently to grow the marijuana," said Bob Gault, Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

The Bradley County Sheriff's Office says charges are pending against the tenants.

Arson investigators are working to determine what started the fire.
