It's back to the drawing board for those who support a renovation of Lake Forest Middle School in Bradley County.
By a vote of 11 to 3 county commissioners defeated a property tax increase of almost eight percent in Monday night's meeting.
Many of the commissioners opposed to the tax hike say they know the school needs a $14 million overhaul, but now is not the time to raise taxes.
Some say with growth from new industries and businesses, the county may be able to fund the renovations within the next three years.
Lake Forest has long been plagued by leaks, security problems, and other maintenance and repair issues.
The spill should be cleared early this afternoon, according to a news release from Chattanooga State.
