Jack Nicklaus' grandson survives scary motorcycle crash
(NBC) - One of the greatest golf families breathed a sigh of relief earlier this summer when a notable member survived a motorcycle crash without serious injury. Now, though, video has surfaced to show just how fortunate Nick O'Leary was to walk away from the incident.
Though O'Leary makes most of his headlines these days as a starting tight end for the Florida State Seminoles football team, golf fans may know him as the grandson of Jack Nicklaus. The 20-year-old was riding a motorcycle on May 2 when a car pulled out in front of him, sending O'Leary flying through the air in a terrifying crash, though he remarkably sustained only minor injuries.
O'Leary was able to walk away from the accident, and is not listed by Florida State as injured. By all accounts, he should be ready for the upcoming football season.
A police report states he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
While the crash occurred in May, video of exactly what happened only became available thanks to a recent public records request by the folks at TomahawkNation.com.
