Cherokee Co. officials bust marijuana grow operation

Posted: Updated:

Cherokee County officials busted an indoor marijuana operation Wednesday.

Officials say operation personnel from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Air National Guard found a sophisticated grow operation in the Marble community.

Airborne units spotted several marijuana plants in the backyard of a home on Day Lilly Drive. Investigators confiscated a substantial amount of marijuana along with several items used in the manufacture of marijuana.

The owner of the home, Jacob Black, 28, was arrested Monday and later released on $10,000 bond.
