Posted: Updated:
DALTON, GA (WRCB) -

The Dalton Police Department is searching for a man wanted on rape, assault and molestation charges.

Police say 57-year-old Lawrence Edward "Larry" Womac has warrants out for rape, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, cruelty to children in the first degree, sexual battery against a child under 16 years of age, and aggravated child molestation.

Investigators say Womac invited two minors to his Guest Inn Room on Chattanooga Road on July 20.

The girls were guests in a different room. Investigators say Womac raped one of the girls and sexually assaulted the other. Both girls fled the room and the incident was reported to police.

Womac has lived in the Dalton and Whitfield County area all of his life but investigators do not have a current address for him.  He stands approximately 5'9" tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

Anyone with information about Womac's location is asked to contact Detective Jason Thompson at 706-278-9085, extension 174.
