CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Officials say a nursing home fire in Crossville sent 31 people to the hospital.

The Crossville Fire Department tells WVLT-TV (http://bit.ly/156FAaU ) that the Friday afternoon fire at Wyndridge Rehabilitation and Health Center was caused by an air conditioner wall unit.

Authorities say 22 people were taken to Cumberland Medical Center, along with seven employees and two firefighters. Most were treated for smoke inhalation.

Authorities say the fire happened in a patient's room. The fire department is investigating why the air conditioning unit caught fire.
