Good Thursday.  After strong storms last night, some folks in Cleveland and Ooltewah are waking up to some downed trees here and there.

For today, we can expect another balmy day with highs near 93, and humidity jacking the heat index to near 100.  Winds will be light, so there won't be much relief on that front.

With the heat and humidity, I do expect widespread storms this afternoon and evening, starting in the higher elevations during the early afternoon and drifting through the valleys through the evening hours.

The biggest threats with any storms today will be from heavy rain, gusty winds, lightning, and maybe some small hail with the strongest storms.

Friday I think we will see some scattered showers, but they will not be as strong or numerous as today.

For the weekend, a front will move through, elevating our rain chances Saturday night into Sunday.

Highs over the weekend will recede into the upper 80s.
