Crime Stoppers: Roller Rink Bandit

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

In this week's Crime Stoppers case we have some pretty good video and pictures of our suspect and, as always, a chance for you to rake in up to a thousand dollars reward cash.

We will call him the Roller Rink Bandit. Why? Because after hours one evening in June, trouble visited the Hamilton Skate Place.

It was after closing at the rink off Gunbarrel and Goodwin Road. Surveillance video shows him hit the ticket office. When he cannot get a drawer to open, he seems to know just where to shine his flashlight beam to find a key.

"This guy knows his way around this place," explained Chattanooga Police Sgt. Daniel Jones. "He's been in the Skate Place before."

The key he found was apparently not the right one, so he headed into the concession area in search of something else.

He returns and finally pries the drawer open. He does not appear to find anything of value in that particular drawer, but he did manage to take a few items from the pro shop; one of which may easily get anyone's attention.

"It's gonna be quite obvious for even a pawn shop owner." said Sgt. Jones, "You know, a young kid, and we're talking between probably the ages of 19 to about 22 to 23 years old coming in with a brand new bowling ball, wanting to pawn one."

Police believe he is a black male, around 19 to 23 years old, 6-feet tall, weighing maybe 160 pounds. Even though he chose to wear a lady's stocking over his head and face, you can still make out the part in his hair and a bit of a tattoo on the back and left side of his neck.

"He's also walking around in a very distinct way," Jones added. "He's very purposed whenever he's walking. Now, that could be one of two things. He could actually be knowing what he's going to get, to steal and/or, you know, he does that all the time."

Now it is time to get you paid. Your good tip is worth up to $1,000 in reward cash, and you will remain complete anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers: 698-3333

Remember: an officer may answer the phone or return your call, but he will never ask your identity.
